When I went to the training in Pala I told G that if she was really good for mommy, we would take her to Yogurt Island. In the days after I got back we had cake for my birthday and Halloween candy so Yogurt Island got moved to the back of the list, not removed, just postponed. Well, tonight was the night. After dinner and baths, we piled into the car and headed of to the land of frozen tarty goodness. On the way, we dropped off all the crafts that Dar and Tara made to Lyn’s Holiday Boutique, so by the time we arrived at Yogurt Island The Boy was totally asleep. His loss. We brought the video camera anticipating some good faces from him when he tasted the tart frozen yogurt for the first time. Oh, well. Ginger, Dar, and I indulged. We took turns so The Boy wouldn’t be left alone in the car so Dar went in first and once she came out, G and I mounted our attack.
Yogurt Island – so many choices!
We all have our own different tastes. When it comes to Dar and I it’s clear that opposites do attract. She filled her cup with original tart and pumpkin yogurt, brownies, cheesecake bites, crushed Butterfingers, and Brandini Toffee. I chose blueberry tart and pineapple/coconut tart yogurt, black berries, and pecans. Ginger ended up with strawberry tart, sprinkles, 2 brownie bites, and three (it had to be three) cherries. Boy did she make out!
Earlier at dinner…
A few days ago we thawed out a tub, yes tub, of Hatch Green Chile and we’ve used it here and there to top various dishes and to punch things up a bit. Tonight was no different. After we were done eating Dar convinced G to try a tiny drip of the chile juice from the tub. That didn’t go so well. Ginger was all smiles until she actually licked it up. There was an instant look of absolute terror in her eyes that was scary at first but now it’s giving me a good chuckle. Bad Parenting 101!
Luckily, we were shortly on our way to cool off this tot’s taste buds with a tangy treat.
